does anyone recommend going to tampere by yourself in november and if so are there cheap places to stay

Omenahotelli (http://www.omena.com/frontpage) should be good value. As to Tampere%26#39;s suitability for solo travelling, I cannot really say... but why not :) Tampere is one of my favourite places, with lively enough nightlife, lots of theatres, gigs etc.

And if you start feeling lonely, try popping in Daniel O%26#39;Connell%26#39;s, off Rautatienkatu!

Tampere is a nice city better than helsinki. Check out Cheap Hotels Worldwide. I stayed in Tampere itself in the Hotel culumus koskikatu which you can eat as much as you want at breakfast. has a lovely sauna but pool cold. There are other cheap hotels around. its easy to get to as ryanair buses take you and bring you back to the city centre. You can catch a train to helsinki for the day. I think tampere is nice for a few days and its clean. You can also go to the pleasure park all are within walking distance.

Well, Finland is not at it%26#39;s best in November. That%26#39;s the time of the year I least like. Think of rescheduling to summer or winter.

best city in europe, stay in scandic hotel, accross road from rtain station, very reasonable if booked online in advanced, [4 star] get public bus to city from airport. google timetable, ryanair dont run busses anymore, for pub/bar life second to none. walk out of hotel, turn left walk 100 meters turn left, you have a kilometer of main street, where all the bars are.prices range from 5euro pint. to 2.5 euro long neck bottle. the city is divided into two by a river, on the north side the price of drink is cheaper, thats where all the university students drink.city is spotless and safe. there is a massive shopping centre called ideapark, you can get a buss from centre city[500 meters from hotel] on the same street as described earlier. the theme park is closed for winter.great city. small and compact. good luck.
