Bus connections from Tampere Airport to Helsinki

Hi,

Whilst staying in Espoo during July we are thinking of making a trip to Riga with Ryanair from Tampere. Could anyone advise the cheapest ways of geting to and from Tampere. On the outward flight day we wil arrive there early and spend the day in Tampere however on return which will be late evening we will need to travel back to Espoo if at all possible. Any ideas welcome. Thank you

Going via Tampere much more than doubles the travelling time to Riga from Espoo. They%26#39;d have to be practically giving away the tickets to make it worthwhile. I suggest you check out a few alternative carriers such as Finnair and Air Baltic (http://www.airbaltic.com/public/index.html) which operate from Helsinki-Vantaa. This is within easy bus or taxi range of Espoo, unlike Tampere.

If you%26#39;re hell-bent on going via Tampere, there%26#39;s a bus service leaving from Rautatientori in Helsinki to Tampere airport. You%26#39;ll no doubt find that the cheapest way. I think it%26#39;s about €30 per person (my mate takes it often, I haven%26#39;t). Otherwise it%26#39;s train and then a bus from Tampere station.

HI, Thanks for your speedy response. I was unaware of Air Baltic%26#39;s existence and have checked out flights from Helsinki and it is much more suitable than travelling over to Tampere. Thank you again for this, I only knew of Finnair, SAS and Blue 1 previously of the Scandinavian airlines so it is extremely helpful!

BTW: the direct bus connection from Helsinki to Tampere Airport for Ryanair flights has been discontinued last december! Nowadays there%26#39;s a bus conncection only to downtown Tampere (bus 61) and/or the Tampere Railway Station (%26quot;Ryanair bus%26quot;).
