Helsinki nightlife?

Off to Helsinki for a weekend in July on a boys trip and wanted some advice / tips on the best bars / nightspots to visit?

Keep hearing scary rumours about the price of drinks, wondered what the actual truth is?

Look forward to some helpful responses.

Hi,

Bar A 21 on Annankatu 21 in Helsinki was voted number one among 100 top bars in the world. Don´t miss Zetor in the down town area.

Price on booze depends on the place and time. Bars sometime have happy hours. In the Kallio area prices are less than in the fancy hotel bars.

Cheers!

The price of beer is still going up in spite of the recession. You can easily find yourself paying over €6 for a measly .4 of a litre, but there are a few places you can fill your beer gut for less than €5 a glass (even a full half-litre) and even in the centre. Look for glitzy places and ignore them.

Fridays (across the street from the railway station, head towards the big round white building: if you can%26#39;t find it, ask a passing pretty girl) was only asking €4 a pint last time I looked in, although that was now quite a few months ago. This place only livens up later in the evening.

There%26#39;s tons of choice anyway, so just exercise your feet till you find a bar that suits you.

Enjoy!

Drinks, esp hard liquor and cocktails are indeed expensive. The more alcohol, the more expensive. Beer, cider and wine are not that bad.

Do like the locals do, get drunk in the comfort of your own home and enter the bar for just a couple of drinks more! Also %26#39;plastic bag beer%26#39; is popular in the parks during the summer.
