Hi all,
We are considering using Finnair to fly over to Asia from the UK this winter.
I know the Finnish are ten times better than us at dealing with the white stuff but was just wondering if flights are affected much at Helsinki due to weather in wintertime.
Thanks for any advice.

Practically never. It%26#39;d really have to be an awful snow storm for this to happen. Fog is a lot more likely nuisance, but that could happen everywhere.

Thank you Tummi, that lessens our concerns we had.

Connections between Asia and Europe are missed in Helsinki very seldom due to the weather. Should that still happen, Finnair will take care of you if you have all the flights in one ticket (i.e. not separate tickets from UK to Finland and Finland to Asia). No need to worry!

The white stuff you refer to is snow, we have it regularly here during the winter months. It will be no issue in Helsinki Airport.

It is extremely unusual to have any trouble with flights because of snow. We are used to handling it and we have the equipment. I fly all the time.
