viking line from stockholm to turku finland

has anyone done this trip. we are gonna go as foot passangers, with no cabin. Where do the people that dont get a cabin go for the trip of 11 hours. is there things to do on the ship. cant find any info on that part. the price we are finding is around 76 euros for both of us round trip. But I am wondering about where you go and sit and etc.

thanks for any feed back.

There%26#39;s plenty of seating. If you don%26#39;t have a cabin you will want to snooze there. You can eat in a variety of restaurants, shop or party for the rest of the time. These ferries are well equipped.

Thanks for the reply, I was hoping you would answer as I have been reading all your answers to other people questions.

It sure is nice to have someone over there that cares enough to help other with their questions and worries on traveling in other countries.

One other question, can we just get tickets on the day we want to go as we dont require a cabin, just foot passengers? I am getting conflicking info on this. We are hoping we can just call like two days before and get tickets, do you know if this is possible. Thanks Again, you are a true help

You don%26#39;t mention when you%26#39;re travelling. At weekends in the summer these ferries get fairly crowded, but there%26#39;s always room for foot passengers.

If the weather%26#39;s fair, spend your time on deck. The island scenery is memorable.

Are you taking a day or night boat? A night cruise without a cabin can be a bit bad experience (without a proper place to sleep) but if you take a day cruise leaving Stockholm in the morning there is no reason to have a cabin. The ferry is full of restaurants (even good ones) and places to watch the extremely beautiful archipelago - if the weather allows you can sit also outdoors.

we are traveling in May around the 17th or there about, we are not setting any exact dates on this adventure as we want to be able to get off the train and go whereever the desire strikes us. We just know where we are going, not actual dates. We are doing Euorpe by rail, starting in France and up to Denmark, Sweden, then over to Finland , back to sweden and the rail to Norway, Then rail back from Norway to Denmark and into Germany. We are giving ourselves plenty of time for seeing all those countries. Taking two months for this trip.

Also could you tell me what tempatures average in Mid may in Finland??

Thanks again for the replies.

We are taking both directions a day time boat, wanting to see as much as we can even by sea.

Cant wait to get there. But May will be here soon, we are in a cold state here, so figure Finland should be a lot like Alaska in May. Alaska can vary between 50 to 80 degrees here. So looking like a nice jacket and sweatshirt and jeans should be the ticket.

Thanks for your information. Applicate any other information we can get

Sleet is possible in early May, but sunny and even warmish is just as likely. Although Finland is as far north as Alaska, the weather is much milder due to the Gulf Stream.
