What to do in Helsinki on Sunday?

We have our last day in Helsinki tomorrow. We hit most of the big museums last weekend, spent the week in Stockholm and have tomorrow to hang out before flying out on Monday. didn%26#39;t squeeze in Tallinn and am getting conflicting info from the front desk about ferry times - will check into that in the AM. If we can be in tallinn only 2-4 hrs, we may decide to hang out here instead - any suggestions? PLaces to shop, spend our last Euros perhaps?

Hop on the first Tallink ferry which will depart from the West Harbour at 10:30 (arrives in Tallinn at 12:30). Take the ferry back at 17:30 or at 21:00 (travel time 2 h). www.tallinksilja.com/en/schedules/helTal/

Or take Linda Line at 10:00 (arrives in Tallinn at 11:30). Linda Line%26#39;s return trips depart at 17:00, 19:00 and 21:00 (travel time 1.5 h). lindaline.fi/en/…

Shops will not be open in Helsinki, but will be in Tallinn on a Sunday.

Actually it seems that tomorrow might be the last Sunday when shops will not be generally open in Finland. According to the current legislation all shops can be open on Sundays from May to August and in November and December. The new law is expected to come in force as of December. It will allow shops to be open 12 - 18 on all Sundays except on public holidays.

Thanks for the info - the front desk at our hotel told us that only Viking was travelling this time of year - your info and the internet links you gave me proved them wrong. Took the linda line at noon and had a lovely if a bit wet day. Sorry to leave your beautiful city so soon, but FinnAir back to NYC in the AM.

Kiitos!

Nancy
