Take care all.

Gatwick

Are there any children in your group? Have you told them???????

I am sooooo excited.

How long are you going for?

Sorry, so many questions!!!!!

See you there.

Hi,

Our 2 daughters are 8 and 14, we have told them as we thought the %26#39;looking forward%26#39; bit and showing all the %26#39;photos were unresistable!!

We%26#39;re going for 7 nights with Inghams are you doing the same kind of trip or one of the Santa Breaks?

|||

Hi

We are going for the week too - a %26#39;winter holiday%26#39; rather than santa trip or ski holiday. We booked through %26#39;santa trips%26#39; but I think that they are actually INghams.

Hope to do everything - skiing, husky / reindeer sleigh rides skidos etc......If I got to see the Northern Lights one night, that would just make it for me.

Our children are 4 %26amp; 7 (but our little girl will have her 8th birthday while we are out there.)

Have you ever been on this kind of holiday before? A week without seeing daylight - take me back to my student days.

Not so long to go now though! It seemed so far away when we started to look into it, but all of a sudden I think I ought to get my daughters passport sorted out!!! (had forgotten it had expired, Oops)

All the best

Rachel

Hi Rachel,

Lucky you checked that passport!!

Yes, we have done a similar kind of trip 7 years ago when our eldest daughter still believed in Santa, it was fantastic! We went to Levi at the time, and did all the Safaris you mentioned, it was wonderful , we vowed to go back again. So 7 years later, we have finally got around to going, We chose Saariselka because the reviews are fab and it looks just what we are after.

We are staying at the Log Cabins, how about you? Have you got all your thermals skiwear sorted yet, it does take a bit or organisation doesn%26#39;t it!!

We got our down from the attic last night, - I%26#39;m just as excited as the children.

Take Care

Hi,

I am going to Lapland for Christmas and the New Year with my wife and 14 year old son. Will be in Kakslauttanen from 23 December in a log cabin for the Christmas programme for 5 nights then travelling a few miles north to Saariselka for 5 nights from the 28 December. Flying out to Helsinki from Heathrow on the 20th then catching the sleeper train overnight to Roveniemi. Staying there for 2 nights before catching a coach to Kakslauttanen. Booked everything myself independently. Never been before so really looking forward to it.

|||

Hi,

Your holidays sounds exciting. How did you find booking independently?

I usually book our holidays that way, but in this instance I had a better deal with a package. The sleeper train will be fun I%26#39;m sure, we%26#39;ve done it a couple of times, in France and Egypt, hadn%26#39;t thought of doing it for this holiday...maybe next time!! We%26#39;re hoping to go to Kakslauttanen during our holiday, we are all really looking forward now. I%26#39;m sure you%26#39;ll love Lapland - it%26#39;s a fab experience for all ages. Can%26#39;t wait.

Hi,

It has been quite straight forward booking the holiday. Booked directly via the internet with Finnair and BA for the flights and again directly with the hotels in Helsinki, Rovaniemi, Kakslauttanen and Saariselka. The sleeper train I booked over the phone with VR. Just have to book our reindeer and huskey safaris and a snowmobile drive. Plan to do some cross country ski-ing and snow shoe walking as well. Not a cheap holiday by any means but I think its going to be worth it. Wanted to do this for some time and really looking forward to it. Have been to the Austrian Alps for Christmas a few times in the past but have a feeling this trip is going to surpass that.

Regards,

John.
