Hi,
Anybody know if packing meat products in the suitcase would be ok, going to lapland.
I.E: Sausages, and bacon, etc.
Are there any restrictions on packing such items in the suitcase?
Thanks,

According to the Finnish customs website, a traveller arriving from an EU country may bring with them for their own use meat and meat products, fish and other fishery products, milk and dairy produce, and egg products without limits.
The only problem may be at the UK end - I was once there during a foot-and-mouth scare and ALL food products were banned on the way out of Britain. I lost six packets of crumpets that day. They didn%26#39;t find the Marmite, fortunately.

HI John...
I%26#39;m sorry for your loss .......6 lots of crumpets and you still seem bitter!!
Uk at the moment is only worried about liquid and gels!!
it just seems to depend on the scare at the time!

I%26#39;m visiting the UK this weekend - please tell me there%26#39;s no foot-and-mouth panic at the moment! I%26#39;m out of Marmite again.

To be fair, the airport bureaucrats did offer to let me eat my crumpets, but since they could offer me neither butter nor the use of a toaster, I declined. 36 dry crumpets are well beyond my capacity.

No foot and mouth! Plenty of people have a cold...most are calling it swine flu.. !!
as said before liquids and gels are a concern!
Hope you have a great time over here in the UK ... we will be back in Lapland for New Year!
