We arrived back from Levi on Sunday night and thought that i would write this message so that should anyone be looking to go and have any questions they may find what i have to say useful!
Let me start by saying that we are normally sun holiday people 100% and thought that we would try this type of holiday for a complete change - I HAVE BEEN CONVERTED and have just had the BEST HOLIDAY EVER!!!!
We went with Inghams and cannot fault their service.
ACCOMODATION:
We stayed at the Immelmokit cabins and found them to be a wonderful choice. The cabins were spotlessly clean and in a wonderful location outside of the main village but still only a 10-15 minute walk away on a nice scenic road.
THINGS TO DO:
None of us were skiiers and thought that we may struggle to find things to do to fill out our week - how wrong we were!!! We did a Skimobile safari, husky safari, snow shoeing, ice karting, trip to Ice Hotel in Sweden, and numerous hours were spent sledging around Levi! About 8pm onwards we walked to the main slope in Levi centre and were able to walk up the slope a way and jump on our sledges for some adrenaline rushing sweeps down to the bottom! Dont get me wrong we didnt go too far up as that would be almost suicidal but as adults we wanted something a little more scary than the kids slopes and this was certainly fun! As long as there are no skiiers coming down we found that no one had a problem with us doing it, but i must reiterate that we NEVER attempted this if there were skiiers on their way down.
EATING:
As the euro is so poor at the moment we knew in advance that eating out a lot would be expensive so we packed frozen chicken breasts, salmon fillets, sausages, bacon, minced beef etc in freezer bags in our cases and despite a 2 hour delay outbound all of our food was still completely frozen on arrival and this did save us an awful lot of money on food. We ate out on 2 evenings and for the 4 of us having starter and main course with soft drinks was around 140 euros. However, the meals were fantastic and we didnt mind paying what we did - remember that if euro rate was better then this price would have been far less when converted back to sterling. On several lunchtimes we grabbed a burger meal from ROLLS in main centre and large burger, large portion of chips and large drink was about 6 - 7 euros each. The supermarket was well stocked but as expected all the imported brands that you would find at home were expensive but we were only shopping for basics such as milk, bread, eggs, crisps etc.
LAST DAY:
We paid 30 euros and were able to keep our cabin right up until collection time (1940) and i have to say that it was the best 30 euros we spent! Had we not done this then we would have had to vacate at 11am.
CLOTHING:
We pre paid for thermal suit and boot hire but didnt use them at all. We each bought a pair of ski trousers and a ski jacket in UK along with a couple of pairs of thermal leggings and 4 thermal tops. This was MORE than adequate for our purposes. On top of this we each packed 2 pairs of jeans and a couple of tops for eating out in and wearing in the cabin - i still came home with things that i hadnt worn! I also had 2 pairs of boots and no other footwear apart from a cosy pair of slippers! At no time did we feel underdressed or in need of extra clothing.
WEATHER AND DAYLIGHT:
At no time during our week did the temperature drop below -9 and this was actually quite a comfortable temperature when adequately dressed! Although it was cloudy every day apart from our last day there we had light from around 9.30am through to around 3.30pm and even when the light went it isnt as dark as you think it will be as the snow keeps everything nice and light! Plus the slopes are all floodlit and the centre itself well lit.
I hope that this pre empts any questions people may have and gives a good insight from someone who has recently returned!
I cant reiterate enough to anyone that hasnt been there just how fantastic this place is - like several other people on this site (mainly women!!) i did shed a few tears on the coach journey to the airport as i was so devastated at having to leave!!
I will be posting some of my photos to my page later today or tomorrow so please feel free to have a look!!
To anyone that is going soon - i envy you! I have 51 weeks to wait til i am back there!!!

Hi
You must of been on the Gatwick flight! We left on the Bristol flight midday Sunday and we stayed in the K5 Chalets just up the road from you.
All I can say is I agree with everything you say, have been Skiing before in many places but nothing comes close to fun we had in Levi.
My whole party was gutted to go home, every one walking around on sunday morning with a glum expression, no one wanted to come home, we even considered extending or trying squaters rights or something!!!!
Were the Immelmokit cabins good, they looked lovely that close to the Ice Lake, we were right next to the reindeer enclosure at the K5, was nice to see them out of the window, but we are undecided as to Immelmokit or K5 next year!
Cheers Martin

I would choose K5 over the Immles - the locations is better and unless you are stying in the Large 6 room ones the others are only 3* . To walk from the large ones to the K5 is a good 10min walk.

Glad you enjoyed.
Hmm, %26quot;As the euro is so poor at the moment%26quot;
Well on the contrary, € is strong and £ has dropped some 30% in a year or so.
That%26#39;s the drawback of not having joined the Monetary Union ;)
