Inghams or Firstchoice

Hi, I%26#39;m looking at booking a 3 night stay to Lapland this December. This is the first time we have been to Lapland and as it%26#39;s quite expensive would like some advice before we book.

We have decided to stay in Levi we was looking at Rovaniemi but a few comments about lack of snow has worried us a bit so Levi looks a safe bet.

We have found two travel companies that offer the sort of trip we are after i.e snow suits and snow rides etc

They are Inghams and Firstchoice - has anyone been with both companies? which did they prefer? The hotel is the same so not worried about that just the best travel company. The cost is slightly cheaper with Inghams but if Firstchoice were better then wouldn%26#39;t mind paying a little extra. Thanks in advance xxx

I have been to Levi with both companies..there%26#39;s not a lot in them...I would probably go with the cheapest!

I think prices will be reduced soon tho%26#39;

I went to Ruka with Inghams a couple of years back, and they were brilliant, no faults at all, have booked with them again to to Levi in January.

Agree with comments about Inghams. No problems at all with them. However if your flying out of Gatwick then note that the flight time coming back from Lapland is quite late in the evening.

We have been twice with Inghams to Levi - cant fault them at all or the accomodation, there trips are prob the best value as well.

used Inghams many times. The only thing that we got annoyed about is Monarch flights never seemed to be on time! always delayed from gatwick and with the later flights now thats probably not great. Their accomodation is good but check out the apartments on the levi web page and just book your flights with inghams. this could be cheaper and you can book your trips with the Central booking office. The airport is only a 15 min taxi or bus ride away too.

I have been with First Choice and they were fantastic value for money and thir reps were excellent too.

Have booked with them again this year.

We have decided to go with First choice as they were slightly cheaper and better flight time for us. We go on the 6th Dec for 3 nights can%26#39;t wait. xxx

Generally there is not a lot of difference between major tour operators with regards to quality, reliability, etc. Therefore my criteria in order of preference is always; price, flight times. When in resort, there is nothing to stop you booking the tours you prefer with ANY operator, just check out their information boards in hotels for details of tours and prices and when the relevant rep is around.

Last year I booked the holiday with Crystal and went to both the Inghams welcome meeting and theirs and booked my tours with Inghams.

Some years ago, when I went to Lesbos (Greece) I looked at a competitors board in a nearby hotel and ended up booking a; Donkey Safari Into The Sunset Tour (with wine and barbecue) which nobody else seemed to do, it was brilliant. So the moral is; you don%26#39;t need to limit your options.
