Santa Claus for Kids

Hello -- I woudl like to take my 2 grandchildren ) age 10 and 9 to Lapland to meeet Santa --- amy information/help greatly appreciated

There are several destinations in Lapland. Do you prefer a smaller resort in the middle of nowhere or a bigger with more choice on restaurants etc.? Are you interested in other things than meeting the Santa? Perhaps husky/reindeer safaris or skiing?

Thank you for al the suggestions --- what I am wondering is a 1 night or 2 nights -- (a one day I think is crazy with a 4 hour flight from Dublin each way!!)

Any suggestions for hotels? Area to visit or do all tours go to Rovaniemi?? We would mainly be there for SAnta and some activites in the snow with the kids.

Is a package tour the best way?? Can it be organised by ourselves??

dont bother with canterbury we booked in jan this year they have just cancelled our trip wanted us to go out of bristol instead of cardiff there are flights out of cardiff at a later date but they will not honour the free child place we had we can have the seats if we pay full price even tho they have had £425 pounds of our money in their bank account for all these months very very dissapointed and they just dont care .helena

with first choice you can get a 3 or 4 night deal cheaper than a 1 night deal with canterbury - theyre so expensive

If you go with first choice you get various trips free, taster reindeer and husky rides and trips to santa park + village (if you stay in rovaniemi)

taster sessions arent long but you can buy the trips (inghams trips seem the best value) or book when your there as youl get better deals

also santa comes to visit the hotel/wherever you are staying on the last night, if your looking for a santa based holiday inghams do a search for santa trip where you go out into the forest to santas log cabin, meet the reindeer etc.

Where you go in lapland is up to you, rovaniemi is the capital and has lots of restraunts etc whereas the other areas are less commercialised
