Wherever you go, get in early or you won%26#39;t have a chance. Standing in a queue outside is no fun in -25C.

There is the Helldone Festival in Tavastia Club over the New Year. They have not yet released their lineup. The Festival was started by HIM some years ago as a New Years concert, now it has become a proper festival for three days. The tickets are not yet sold, but find more information from www.tavastia.fi

Other options include:

Heavy corner: http://www.heavycorner.com/

and On The Rocks http://www.ontherocks.fi/

I would also absolutely recommend Tavastia for New Years for Rock/Metal lovers.

Thanks Johnthe Finn, Hki and Tinas for the info

can you tell me the best way to get from the Airport to Radisson Hotel Royal please

thanks again guys

The best way to get from the airport to the Radisson SAS Royal is to take either the bus nro 615 (Terminal 2 platform 21) the cost is 4euro. It gets you to the Central Railway Station, from there you can either walk or take the Metro to Kamppi (one stop). The 4euro ticket is valid for the bus and the metro (within 1,5hours).

The other option is to take the Finnair City Bus also from Terminal 2, platform 1a. The cost is 5,9euro and the ticket is not valid for metro. However it is only a tem minute walk from the Central Railway Station to your Hotel.

Third option is to take a taxi, the cost is between 35-40euro.

Again thanks Hki for the directions. Can we buy a return Bus ticket for the 615?

Taxi (or Airport Taxi) is naturally the easiest option, or take the bus 615 (or any of its variants) from the airport to the Helsinki Central Railway Station and change there to a metro to Kamppi, or bus 65A to Kampintori. Radisson SAS Royal is in Kamppi.

The fastest connection is, however, to take the bus 615 only until Sörnäinen and change there to the metro (this stop might not be so easy to spot as the Central Railway Station which is the last stop).

See connections at http://aikataulut.ytv.fi/reittiopas/en/?keya=Helsinki-Vantaa%26amp;a=23301%26amp;an=%26amp;keyb=Hotel+Radisson+SAS+Royal%26amp;b=22727%26amp;bn=%26amp;hour=12%26amp;min=00%26amp;vm=1%26amp;day=01%26amp;month=11%26amp;year=2009%26amp;va=2%26amp;adv=

BTW: the name of the hotel has recently changed and nowadays it is Radisson BLU Royal www.radissonblu.com/royalhotel-helsinki

You cannot buy a return ticket for the bus 615. A single ticket costs 4 EUR and will be valid also for the connecting journey on the metro. Single tickets can be bought from the driver.

You won%26#39;t have a problem getting to the airport.

Snow is likely but not guaranteed.

Hi again

I tried to get tickets for Tavastia when they went on sale 20th Oct but they were all sold out by the time it was my turn on the net. I really need to be able to buy tickets to get into somewhere in advance for New Year any other suggestions please, otherwise if no Rock/Metal Clubs or Bars are there celebrations outside? I would prefer to be inside listening to Metal and Rock music though

Help!
