Hi
Is it possible to do a day trip from Helsinki to somewhere that offers downhill skiing?
I would need somewhere that rents out equipment, including suitable clothing.
If there is such a place, please tell me about transportation options and also the cost of renting equipment and a ski pass etc.
Thank you

The nearest Skislopes are at Serena in Espoo, approximately 40min from the center of Helsinki. Renting skis from there is 25euro per day (they also rent equippement by the hour) The ticket for the lifts are 27euro per day (also available by the hour). The bus number 339 takse you straight from the Central Railwaystation to Serena. Serena Ski is not yet opened, it openes every year depending on the Weather (i.e.minus degrees).
An other option is to take a daytrip and go to Himos. The departure is from the Central Railwaystation every Saturday between 29.12-3.4, the Bus departs at 7am and comes back at 5pm. The ticket is 57 euro including bus and lift-ticket.
