Hi guys,
I am new to this forum and would appreciate some advice on booking a holiday. I have been dreaming of visiting Lapland since I was a small child. Now i%26#39;m 29 and just about able to afford my dream! I am planning on taking my partner and daughter.
Ideally I would like to book with either Inghams or Neilson - as they seem to offer the best deals. I haven%26#39;t saved enough to book my holiday yet! but would love to go this January/Feb. Please can anyone tell me whether its better to book now? or will the price come down nearer to the time? I remember last year Crystal ski reduced their prices a month before ( I still couldn%26#39;t afford it) but the reduction was huge!! I%26#39;m just annoyed that Crystal are no longer dealing with Lapland this year..
anyway enough of my waffling on...
if anyone knows whether its worth me holding out for a reduction before I book.. I would be grateful for any feedback!!
Thank you :)

we have always booked with inghams, so i can%26#39;t comment on neilson.
if your not booking a school holiday, you can book a few weeks before %26amp; save money.
school holiday weeks need booking in advance.
also it can depend on the resort, some are more popular than other.
for a first timer, i would look at levi, airport transfer is 20 minutes.
the resort is excellent.
just decide hotel or cabin, we always do cabin, its more flexiable having kids.

Thank you for your reply.
I was actually looking at Levi. Ideally I would prefer a cabin. Far more traditional! I would be thinking of booking for the first week of January (first week the kids go back to school)
would be great if the price drops a little nearer the time.

If you have good nerves then hold out till nearer the time - first week in Jan is a quiet time and you can get some good bargains.

as you can go out of the school holidays I would wait for a deal - we have had several of them and they are fab

Agree with the above,During term time there should be some great deals around exp for early January/february.
I am waiting for one aswell again this year but its not quiet as exciting though knowing i have nothing booked as of yet but im sure when i pay at least half the price it will chear me up:-)

Hi Hay.
Go for it, lovely place Lapland, been 5 times and would be there again if they hadn%26#39;t cancelled the flight out of Birmingham.
Bluny will say sarraeskaaa (spelt something like that), but I think Levi will offer you more choice.
Off to Austria this year due to cancelled flight.
|||
LOL!
I would love to go back to Saariselka but the flight times are alot later this year so it may well be levi again wally(who knows?).
Personally i would rather choose akaslompolo Yllas over Levi but again its all done to personall choice.
I do like Levi so i wont be dissapointed if we end up back there this year plus it will be good to see how the resort has changed in the last 2 years.(lots by the sound of it).
Dont really care where we end up as long as the price is right:-)
Where ever you choose hay i%26#39;m sure you will enjoy lapland.

Hi Bluny.
Certainly changed in Levi.
I will miss not going Lapland this winter.
|||
I know i cant imagine not going to lapland this year but im sure you will have a great time where you are now going.
Never mind wally i will toast a lapin kulta to you:-)

keep saving....and hold on...That week will be cheap I always look as I have to go in school holidays-I love my job...
I am amazed how cheap they go ...I have seen some holidays for £199 at this time...That was Ruka
However I would just go for the cheapest cabin if that is your dream...
Good luck!
