public transport - ticket from what age on?

just so we don%26#39;t get caught accidently cheating -

children from the age of seven upwards need a ticket, so my son, who will turn seven in september, won%26#39;t need a ticket next week.

is that correct or is it the year of birth (2002) that counts?

thanks!

getting into the last stages and details of our planning ;-)

It%26#39;s the age that counts. Children%26#39;s ticket is valid for 7-16 year-olds.

It%26#39;s counted from the child%26#39;s birthday, so your son will not need a ticket before September.

great, thanks to both of you!
