Hi CarOled, we have travelled to Ruka for the last 2 years, unfortunately as regards Dublin its not possible to go with a travel company. Of course you could fly from Dublin to Tampere with Ryanair and then either fly internally or get the overnight snow train up north.
On both our trips to Lapland we went with Crystal Ski out of Gatwick (both times in March), however in recent weeks, Crystal Ski has pulled out of doing Lapland Skiing holidays, however Inghams are still doing it until the end of February, have a look at their website and see what you think..........D

hi thanks for your help was hoping to go from ireland to bring the price down but if not to be will certainly have a look at the alternatives did you manage to catch the northern lights

Regarding the Northern Lights, I myself havent seen them, although my husband went for a walk one night from where we were staying (Maston Aitio cabins) down to Vuoselli and he reckons he saw them.
Good luck with the search, for us price wise it was cheaper to go with Crystal ski as we managed to get 5 euro fares over to Gatwick and with the early bird specials and free child places it worked out at just over £1,200 for the 4 of us in March, the kids only missed 3 days of school as we went St Patricks week. Had we gone independantly with Ryanair to Tampere, we would have got very cheap flights, but the snow train was working out around 350euros (if I memory serves me right), then we would have had to get from Kemijarvi to Ruka. From the websites we have looked at, it is very easy to book accommodation yourself.
Instead of going to Gatwick, you could fly from Belfast to Bristol and go with Inghams from there.
Let me know if you find another way from Belfast or Dublin to go direct, we%26#39;d be very interested !

Hi
We went to levi in January, with Inghams. We booked from Gatwick, as it was much cheaper. Stayed at the Levito Cabins, which were great and so close to the town. January was a nice time still had all the Christmas feel.
The place is amazing, with lots of activities. Please let me know if you need any other advise.
Jo
