I dont anticipate any replies to this post but if you don%26#39;t try ....
We are calling in to Torshavn on a cruise liner for an afternoon at the beginning of August. We have a chance of one excursion.
One is to go by small boat along the Stremoy coast to the Vestmanna cliffs for some bird watching.
Another is a scenic drive to Eysturoy Island to Nordragota and Sydrugota woolen mill.
The other is to Kirkjubour and then a walk in Torshaven.
Any suggestions please.

The Vestmanna cliffs are in the neighborhood of 2000 feet high (highest sea cliffs in Europe on north coast of Faroes), are vertical, and the boat will go into narrow channels and caves, weather permiting. I didn%26#39;t find bird watching very good there when I visited 6 years ago, but the scenery is spectacular and it is a fun trip. You can always walk around the old buildings on the small peninsula in the harbor at Torshavn on your own also.

We were in the Faroes last Summer the trip to the bird cliffs is spectacular and worth it. The town of Torshavn os quaint but can be walked round on your own with a guide book Brandt do a good one of the Faroes, and will only take an hour or two. Only advice wrap up warm the Faroes in summer!! can be bleak compared to other destinations and the bird cliffs are not a shorts and tee shirt location, around 10c / 50F if you are lucky.
You will enjoy this remote and almost unknown corner of Europe.

Vestmanna cliffs are pretty huge, they reminded me of Los Gigantes in the Canaries. I would suggest the Vestmanna cliffs because Eysturoy Island is pretty bleak in the summer....
