Are there trains from Seinajoki to Helsinki-Vantaa airport?
Will be leaving Seinakoki on Sunday, August 9, in the afternoon or evening to head to Helsinki airport.
What are the trains and timetables for that route?
Thanks for your help.

You would do better to get off slightly before Helsinki, at Tikkurila, as this is closer to the airport. Your train stops there. From Tikkurila it%26#39;s a short hop by taxi, or you could take the bus (well marked at the station and fairly frequent) if your luggage permits.

Seinäjoki is located along the main railway line Rovaniemi-Oulu-Kokkola-Seinäjoki-Tampere-Helsinki. However, there isn%26#39;t any railway line to the Helsinki-Vantaa Airport (there%26#39;s one currently under construction due to open for traffic in 2014).
As John already pointed out, there%26#39;s no need to travel all the way to Helsinki. Get off the train at Tikkurila, it is only a 20 min bus ride from the airport on line 61. The bus stop (bus platform 1) is clearly marked (signs painted even on the ground) with the same symbols you can find at ytv.fi/ENG/…frontpage.htm .
See bus connections Tikkurila - Helsinki-Vantaa Airport at the Journey Planner: http://tinyurl.com/od2b55
You can also plan your entire journey from Seinäjoki to the Helsinki-Airport at http://tinyurl.com/quq4rb (includes the train journey from Seinäjoki + the connecting bus journey). On this service you can also give even the departure street address. If I recall right you will be leaving from Kurikka: http://tinyurl.com/r5333j .
The web services and journey planners do not give details to so far in the future (max one month ahead), so check it ca one month before the travel.

I will have luggages with me.
Not sure if the bus will let me in with these luggages.
Please advise and thanks much!!

If you can get it on the plane, you can get it on the bus. Taking a taxi from Tikkurila won%26#39;t break the bank, though - it%26#39;s only a ten-minute trip.

Excellent John the Finn.

I think a cab adter the train will be the best option.
Any idea roughly how much will be a cab for this 10-minute ride?
Thanks so much again.

Shucks, I did it myself a couple of weeks ago but naffed if I can remember. Maybe a tad over €15 but I think less than €20. There%26#39;s a weekend supplement so it may be a euro or two higher.
I%26#39;ve very rarely seen a line of people waiting for taxis at Tikkurila but it does happen occasionally. You have the bus for backup, fortunately.

So, exactly which route I should take from Seinajoki to Helsinki Vantaa airport on Sunday, August 9?
I got an 8am flight on Monday, August 10.
I must leave Seinajoki by 1400h (2pm) on Aug 9 to get to the Hilton at the Helsinki-Vantaa airport.
Can someone simplify the train/taxi-bus itinirary for me?
Thanks much.

%26gt;Can someone simplify the train/taxi-bus itinirary for me?
We%26#39;ve already given you all the English-language websites you need to look up the train timetables for yourself. Getting the bus from Tikkurila station is not challenging for anyone of normal intelligence - the bus stop has a little picture of an airplane on it, as do the numerous signs indicating where the bus stop is, and the buses are quite frequent. Finnish taxis are marked TAKSI in large letters.
I hope this is enough simplification for you.
