Is purchasing the Prepaid Meals for Dinner and Breakfast a good value on the ferry?

When bought in advance meals are approx. 10% cheaper than when paid onboard (the discount does not apply in the harbour/check-in on the day of departure).
The dinner voucher%26#39;s value is the same as of the buffet dinner (incl. drinks, also beer and wine), or it can be used up to their value also in other dining restaurants onboard. If you decide to go for the buffet, remember to make also a table reservation together with your booking! They have usually two sittings per evening.
The Scandinavian buffet dinner is certainly worth a check if you have never tasted it before. The buffet has the following %26quot;main%26quot; tables: cold fish starters, cold meat starters, warm main courses and dessert table. Starters are usually much better than the main courses, so concentrate more on them and desserts ;-) .
Viking Line ( http://www.vikingline.fi/onboard/wine_dine/ )
Dinner: 29 EUR (value/price onboard 32 EUR)
Sea Breakfast: 9 EUR (value/price onboard 9.50 EUR)
Food Garden Breakfast: 14 EUR (value/price onboard 15.50 EUR)
Silja Line (http://www.tallinksilja.com/en/tab1/default/mealPricesHeSt.htm , tallinksilja.com/en/…eating.htm ,
Dinner: 33 EUR (value/price onboard 35 EUR)
Sea Breakfast 9.50 EUR (value/price onboard 10.50 EUR)
Special Breakfast 16 EUR (value/price onboard 17 EUR)

I agree that the smörgåsbord (Scandinavian buffet) is worth a visit. And the dinner coupon is also valid on a la carte restaurants as well, so you can make up your mind also later. Note that the wine included in the price is one of the worst available, but they will sell you decent wines too, with additional cost.
The breakfast is nothing spectacular, but if you are up early and would like to sit in a reestaurant and watch the scenery, it%26#39;s OK.

Spectacularity of the breakfast depends on what sort of breakfasts you are used to ;-) .
It is a buffet breakfast that combines the scandinavian, continental, English and other breakfasts, i.e. the selection of different foods is very large. The Food Garden (Viking) and Special (Silja) Breakfasts have even larger selection (including sparkling wine...).
The breakfast onboard the ship will keep you going well until late lunch time! Breakfast serving starts usually 1.5 hours before arrival time. There are no set sittings for breakfast, you can go to breakfast when you want (before the arrival).
