ideas or a snowy break that won't cost a fortune

hi all

we%26#39;d like to go somwhere snowy for a few days end of dec beg jan but don%26#39;t want to pay a fortune. 2 adults and 1 child age 8 we don%26#39;t ski but would like toboganning etc

lapland would be great,there is so much to do-however it can be expensive...for example you could easily do a week cheaper!

The cheapest option for a few days would be to check out lastminute.com who had some 3 day breaks for the beginining of December. However at the end of December begin of Januaary the prices will be at an all time high!!

hi have you thought of HIMOS IN FINLAND you can fly with ryanair from dublin to tampere and stay at the himos resort 1200euros even cheaper at other times for a log cabin for the week just a thought

Himos looks great especially as it is so near to Tampere!

How does it compare with somewhere like LEVI?

i have done lots of research into Himos and the only drawback is levi has more tours like the santa thing for kids huskie rides ect, but both have great snow ect and himos is mostley log cabins with just the one hotel . i finaly picked levi for myself but only because the age of my children but levi is working out about £1250 more. good luck kiptic

If you can go to Levi around 3rd jan the price is much less with Inghams, we went in Jan and only payed just over £200 PP for a week, you would need 5 in a Chalet to get this price,great time as it was not to busy.

i will be going to himos next year and due to the amount of emails i have done the best way forward is google himos ckick on the english translated page then once your into the himos site click on the accommadation section and you will have 3 different companys offering you accommadation i have found the best for price and offers is the top one of the 3 http://www.himoslomat.fi/ and go into the winter cottage section and the prices are good... anout 500 euros a week cheaper than the other two companys hope this helps and if you go let us know whats its like
