Ferry Helsinki to Tallin straight from airport & Sunday

We%26#39;ll be arriving at Helsinki airport at 1pm and plan on taking the ferry to Tallinn that very same evening. What ferry line do you recommend? If I book a ticket for let%26#39;s say, 6pm, can I board on an earlier ferry? We%26#39;re going on the last Friday of September, will it be very busy? Is this feasible?

Lastly, what can we expect on Sunday? Is there any kind of Sunday trading hours in Helsinki? Are museums open?

Thanks!

Take whatever ferry suits your timetable, I%26#39;d say. There shouldn%26#39;t be any problem getting a booking at that time of year.

Shops in Helsinki are closed on Sundays in September, museums are open.

Thanks =)

In autumn (what late September is in this corner of the world), I%26#39;d suggest you to choose either Viking Line%26#39;s or Tallink%26#39;s fast ferries (Viking XPRS, Star or Superstar).

Due to its small catamarans Linda Line, which would be the fastest line, is prone to wind and rough sea and might cancel their services with short notice.

Thanks zam72. Somehow I didn%26#39;t see your reply beforehand, sorry for late reply. I think we%26#39;ll be using Tallink =) =)

Actually, Linda has had a new, larger vessel on the route this season. I don%26#39;t think it%26#39;s been cancelled once. You could check the weather forecast a couple of days in advance and book accordingly. An extra half-hour in Tallinn is nice.

Thanks, John. So many options now, I hope it works out =)

There have been very few cancellations this summer, but on the other hand, this summer%26#39;s weather has been very fair and we are just moving towards autumn which also means that the weather is likely to become less stable, unfortunately.
