Just remind us what kind of holiday you were going for ..where,how long etc...
So sorry to hear about your trip What reason was it cancelled??
|||
we were going to saariselka 23rd of dec to 27th for christmas you know huskey%26#39;s etc. But at the moment we are not sure where to go now oour main concern is just finding a good tour operator that hopefully won%26#39;t cancel
|||
Not too many tour operators go to Saari ...
perhaps check out other resorts ??
I have not heard of Santaclaus trips...
Iglu have been going for quite a few years so I think you are safe with them
If you are still searching try
Canterbury travel
first choice holidays

Inghams or Neilson.
I hope you can find something that suits,
Good luck x

Iglu are an on line travel agent company that deal with various companies at competitive rates. They are very good, I have booked Lapland with them and also cruises at very good prices. We booked via Iglu for a 4 day Santa trip to Saariselka with Esprit in Dec 2006 and it was fantastic and delivered everything just as the brochure described. The last two years we have booked direct with Inghams to Saariselka for week long holidays. With them the activities are extra but are very good and competitively priced compared to booking with local companies in resort.

thankyou guys i%26#39;ll have a look into them all and see what;s best

I%26#39;m guessing that if Emagine have pulled out Iglu that sells the same holiday may withdraw it..I know Crystal have pulled out of Lapland too! You may be best chooseing a cheaper holiday and then booking all your %26#39;Experiences%26#39; seperate!
We have certainly done this and it often works out cheaper! You know several people on another forum have booked Santa to visit their children at their cabins..He comes with his reindeer- this may be nice..shame my child is too old %26#39;cos I would love it!
Keep persevering because Lapland is worth all the effort!

Shame about the cancellation. If you haven%26#39;t got luck with overseas travel operators, have you thought about organising a trip yourself through local Finnish organisers? You would need to book flights separately of course.
The following site is for Saariselkä:

Good advice above. We are going to organise our own trip next time having travelled with Esprit and Inghams in the past. There is lots of accommodation on the Saariselka website given and they speak fluent english so can deal with any enquiries you have. Flights with Finnair are via helsinki to Ivalo which is only 25 mins from resort and a bus meets every flight.

Hi! We are travelling to Saariselka on 23 December until 26 December. We are travelling with Esprit from Manchester and they also have a flight from Gatwick on the same day into Ivalo. They still have availability on their website. Our friends travelled with Esprit last year and spoke really highly of them as a company - which is why we decided to book.
Hope that helps

Hi Austrailia Sunbunny
Are you able to source your own flights, we have log cabins out in Yllas and are able to offer from cabin hire to fully intinerised packages, including Santa, Huskies, reindeer safaris, snowmobiling, skiing, thermal gear and taxi transfers.
our site is www.funwithsanta.co.uk
Kind regards
Jane
