I will be in Helsinki from Sept. 5th to Sept. 10th. I was thinking of doing a day trip to Provoo. I thought I wanted to travel by boat from Helsinki to Porvoo and then return to Helsinki by bus. However, I read on one Web site that the boat trips to Porvoo are discontinued after Sept. 1st. Is that correct? If there is no boat can you advise me about traveling by bus? Thank you.

The bus is comfortable and fast, much quicker than the boat trip. It%26#39;s a little boring, but so is the boat trip on the way back.
Porvoo is an excellent day trip destination. Enjoy!

The m/s J.L.Runeberg will do its last run for the season on 5 Sep, departing Helsinki at 10 am.
Bus services between Helsinki and Porvoo will be upgraded in the Fall with a lot of new nonstop buses doing the leg in about 50 minutes.

we just hired a car and drove -its easy just a little boring with limited attractions to see. I think there is some info on Porvoo on my travelers list on Helsinki..click on.

The motorway is a bit boring, but it%26#39;s only like 30 mins. If you rent a car there are alternate routes thru rural areas that are quite scenic. And parking is no problem in Porvoo.
