Has anyone got married at Lainio snow village???
Did you use the wooden or ice chaple?
I am hoping to get married there in dec 2009 and would love to hear from others who have or are planning to.

Hi there!
Oh my God!! How lucky are you!! Not got married there...yet!! Working on it though!
We went on a visit to the ice hotel early in January. We went to look at the chapel. It is so beautiful. Its small, cosy and so atmospheric. There is a wood burning stove, candles, its all wooden... It is truly magical!
Didn%26#39;t see the ice chapel; in fact, didn%26#39;t know they had one. However, it must be similar to the rest of the hotel which is also amazing. It%26#39;s not quite so atmospheric as the chapel in my mind.
It would be my absolute dream to get married in that chapel!!

Hi Sharon
I visited the snow village last year and my Fiance proposed to me in the little wooden chaple. It is very nice and I have since been keen to get married in it. However when I look at pictures on the internet of lapland wedding the ones in the ice chapple look so nice. I contacted the people who own it and they said the were going to build an ice chaple which would have been great but as my wedding is early Dec this year it will not be built in time. I couldn%26#39;t remember how many people could fit in the wooden chaple, it might be too small (I have 22 people coming).
So are you hoping to get married in Lapland?

Hi!
How lucky are you! Proposal in the chapel! No, nothing is confirmed for me. David, my other half, won%26#39;t propose until he is certain I%26#39;ll say yes! I%26#39;ve told him he%26#39;s got to wait and see!
He also tells me he is looking for the most romantic place in the world! We have been to some very romantic places so far, believe me, but no proposal!
I was really disappointed that he didn%26#39;t ask in Lapland. I was convinced he was going to. We were in the chapel on New Year%26#39;s Day! I really thought that was going to be it!!
I%26#39;ve just phoned him and told him that you had your proposal in the chapel. Guess what he said, %26quot;Would you have said yes?%26quot;
I hate him!!

Hi Sharon
I can%26#39;t believe he didn%26#39;t ask you on new years day in that chaple!!! It has to be the most romantic place on the planet! Perhaps you should be less subtle on the whole %26#39;YES%26#39; thing as sometimes men need a little help (andy was shitting himself). I%26#39;d never actually told him I%26#39;d say YES if he asked but I made it pretty obvious that I would. We went from Levi to the snow village on snow mobiles and he had the ring in his pocket the whole way-it was all very sweet.
I hear the chaple can hold 25 but everyone would have to be standing. Still finding out about wedding locations.
Are you planning to go back to Lapland?

Hi!
Sorry for delay! Would love to go back to Lapland. Told dave that he needn%26#39;t think of proposing anywhere else other than the chapel!
You are so very lucky. What a romantice man you have! Jealous? Me? Oh yes!!!!

Tori,
My wife and I got married in the wooden chapel at the Lainio snow village i January and it was absolutely perfect. We stayed in the ice hotel the night after the wedding and saw the ice chapel and we were glad we%26#39;d got married in the wooden chapel.
One of the things that concerned me a little before we left was that I%26#39;d only seen a couple of photos of the chapel and hadn%26#39;t really got a picture of what the place looked like. We%26#39;ve got loads of photos now though! I%26#39;d be more than happy to send you some if you want me to.
We hired a bus to take us from Levi to the snow village (about 45 mins drive). The bus waited while we got married and had a drink in the ice bar, then we went back to Levi for a meal at K5.
We dropped my wife off at the husky farm about 5k outside the snow village and she arrived at the chapel on a husky sled which was excellent!
The service itself was short but lovely and the chapel was great - it%26#39;s small and cosy with a log fire in one corner.
I remember how keen I was to know as much as I could before I went so if there%26#39;s anything you want to know give me a shout.
Best of luck
John

Under my shirt I had a thermal base layer and a long-sleeved T shirt. Under my suit trousers I had 2 pairs of running leggings and on my feet I had ski socks!
My wife had tights and salopettes under her dress!
After the wedding, when we came out of the chapel, I put on an overcoat and my wife had a fur jacket
