My husband and I have got a 5-hour layover in Helsinki on our way to Stockholm next week. Wondering if anyone has any suggestions about what is doable in that amount of time. Thanks for any ideas.

It takes about 30 minutes to get to the town from the airport, so you%26#39;ll have plenty of time to see Helsinki. If you dont have any specific points of interest, I suggest you take a bus to the railway station, and the hop on to the tram 3B / 3T and enjoy the ride.

I would suggest a stroll in the Esplanadi-Kauppatori (market square)-Senaatintori area rather than a tram ride, if the weather is good.
If it%26#39;s bucketing with rain, you might take the famous beer tram, which covers many of the points of interest of the tram 3 route without most of the boring bits - AND you can drink while touring!
The beer tram leaves from the opposite side of Rautatientori from the railroad station (which is where the 615 bus from the airport arrives; if you take the Finnair bus you have to walk through the station). Departures on the hour from 2PM to 8PM. The trip takes about 40 minutes.
