Christmas Lunch

Just a quick question. It is our first time in Lapland this year and we will be staying in Yllas log cabins over christmas with Inghams. As part of the deal we get a free Christmas dinner at a local hotel. I know the rest of the time we will be very causal, but what type of thing do people wear for this meal. I am worried about having to get there in snow gear.

Nothing fancy - Jeans or trousers and a top, dont worry no dresses or suits required :-)

I have been to the meal and it%26#39;s lovely, take some crackers with you if you can (put them in your hold luggage)

we didn%26#39;t dress up at all and took all our coats and stuff with us into the resturant rather than paying to hang them up (we are tight sometimes)

if you have children then they will love it, santa comes along in his sleigh so keep an eye out from the windows where the raised bit of the resturant is - there are lots of games for the kids and they have a wonderful time so take your camera

you are going to love it, it%26#39;s a buffet and typically Finnish so don%26#39;t expect turkey etc

have fun

Yes, the meal is OK, and it saves you money, probably about 80 Euros lol :-) Although no doubt you pay for it with your holiday cost.

If the meal%26#39;s in the Saaga then it%26#39;s fine ... just don%26#39;t expect turkey and all the trimmings. Other advice: I%26#39;m not sure Christmas crackers are allowed in luggage - I know we were warned against it.

Funny (not really ha ha) we had two (or was it three?) Christmas dinners last Christmas ..... due to the number of complaints I think. We went with Crystal and the reps didn%26#39;t put out crackers for us ... they cited %26quot;Elf and Safety%26quot; ... yet other travel companies provided. The next time the food wasn%26#39;t %26#39;special%26#39; and third time lucky it was just right .... don%26#39;t know if anyone else on the forum was in the Saaga over Christmas last year and can remeber this??

Oh yeah ..... and consider the price of the wine in the hotel, which wasn%26#39;t included in the meal! Pretty expensive by my reckoning .... but them I am a Yorkshireman living in Scotland!!
